Financial expert GehGeh calls out Rema for collecting N4.8B at the Indian billionaire wedding and not saying anything about it

A video circulating on social media shows financial expert GehGeh calling out Nigerian singer Rema for receiving N4.8 billion (approximately $3 million) without addressing it publicly.

On July 12th, 2024, Intel Region reported that Rema was paid this substantial amount to perform at the $600 million wedding of an Indian billionaire.

The extravagant wedding took place over the weekend in India’s second-largest city, with prominent celebrities and leading politicians in attendance. Anant Ambani, 29, the youngest son of Asia’s richest man Mukesh Ambani, married his longtime girlfriend, Radhika Merchant, 29. The wedding, hailed as the event of the year, showcased a grand display of wealth and glamour.

During the wedding, Rema performed his hit song “Calm Down” in a 10-minute set, earning the N4.8 billion fee. This substantial payment has sparked significant online discussion.

Reacting to this, GehGeh argued that Rema’s success is partly due to the support and prayers of his Nigerian fans. GehGeh emphasized that Rema should give back to his fans, highlighting the issue of hunger in Nigeria.

In his words; “Rema it is very wrong for you to keep The N4.8Billion ($3Million) the Indian Billionaire paid you to come and perform at his son’s wedding all to yourself remember it was the prayers of we Nigerians that took you to where you are in life today and not your Hardwork”
