Ghanaian socialite Shatta Bundle begs EFCC after spraying naira at an event in Nigeria

Ghanaian socialite Shatta Bandle recently found himself in hot water with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) due to his public display of naira notes during his visit to Nigeria.

Shatta Bandle was in Nigeria to attend the funeral of Nollywood actor John Okafor, popularly known as Mr. Ibu, and was later seen enjoying himself at another event.

A viral video captured the small-sized celebrity showering naira notes at the event, which drew the attention of the authorities. In response to the incident, Shatta Bandle issued a public apology to the EFCC and the people of Nigeria for his misuse of the naira. He highlighted a similar past incident involving crossdresser Bobrisky, who faced imprisonment for comparable actions.

Now back in Ghana, Shatta Bandle explained that he initially began by spraying dollars but switched to naira when he ran out of the US currency, inadvertently violating Nigerian law. He expressed his respect for the EFCC and Nigerian laws, describing Nigeria as his second home. His apology aimed to convey his regret and his appreciation for Nigeria and its regulations.
